MEWPs 1A and 3A Operator Training (Scissor and Single person Mast Lifts)

MEWPs provide access to otherwise unreachable places and are indispensable in the entertainment industry. However they also can be dangerous machines that require safety training to operate. OSHA has required that lift training be specific to the type of lift and that the type of lift be listed on the training documentation. This class will fulfill that requirement for the 1A and 3A lifts. The most common 1A lift in the entertainment industry is the Single person mast lift colloquially called a Genie Lift. The most common A3 lift in the entertainment Industry is the Scissor Lift.
IATSE Local 122’s Industrial Machines Department in partnership with The Old Globe Theater is providing 1A and 3A MEWPS Training at the Old Globe Technical Center.
Upon successful completion of this class the Worker will Receive an IATSE local 122 MEWPs Licensed Endorsed with the 1A and 3A categories that will be valid for all partnering employers.
The Old Globe Tech Center requires proof of vaccination to enter the venue and masks to be worn while on the premises. They are providing a venue and equipment, Please respect their policies and be prepared to provide both the day of class.
