Cultivating Respectful Workplaces for Conventions & Tradeshows

Brought to you by the International and taught by IATSE Local 122 member Rachel Eaves, International Representative, this class explores the importance of building and maintaining respectful, inclusive, and professional workplaces within the convention and tradeshow industry. Participants will learn how respectful behavior, effective communication, and accountability contribute to safer, more productive work environments. The course covers workplace expectations, recognizing and addressing inappropriate conduct, fostering collaboration among diverse teams, and understanding the shared responsibility of creating a culture of respect for all workers, exhibitors, clients, and attendees.

- Understand the principles of workplace respect and professionalism.
- Recognize behaviors that contribute to harassment, discrimination, or bullying.
- Develop effective communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Promote inclusion, teamwork, and accountability in event environments.
- Support a safe, welcoming, and productive experience for everyone involved in conventions and tradeshows.
