Rigging 10 and 20: Intro to Rigging and Rigging Skills Lab

This comprehensive two-part class combines foundational rigging principles with essential hands-on practice, perfect for aspiring riggers and those looking to advance their skills. Whether you’re new to the field or aiming for ground rigging certification, this workshop provides the knowledge and practical experience you need to safely and confidently work with rigging systems. Class is from 9am until 12pm, then 1pm-3pm will be available for practice and further individual instruction.

- Rigging Fundamentals: Get introduced to the exciting world of rigging, learning the essential skills and safety practices to lift and suspend show elements with confidence.
- Gear Identification & Inspection: Learn to identify and properly inspect critical rigging gear, including shackles, wire ropes, and slings.
- Truss & Motor Operations: Master safe truss assembly techniques and best practices for motor setup and operation.
- The Science of Rigging: Understand the principles of force, gravity, and their impact on rigging systems.

- The learner must have worked a call from the referral hall, worked under a collective bargaining agreement, or be a current member of IATSE Local 122.
- This is an in person class. This class has limited attendance and all attendees must have a reservation; therefore, it will be treated like a job call.
